Been going here since I was a kid and it still is as good as I remember. The beans and rice are unparalleled. Some of the best Americanized Mexican food around.
We have been eating here since the 70's. All of the family owned Cafe D's. Everything in the menu meets my expectations. I love the Chili Verde Mojato. It's huge so it gives me two meals. Unfortunately I have moved so I don't go as often as I'd like to.
Fish & Shrimp tacos were great. Customer service was excellant. We ordered take out and the very pleasant, receptionist/order taker chatted with us the short time it took to receive our order.
The service and food was excellent. I was part of seven guy lunch group ( we rotate around Auburn on Thursdays) who showed up around noon for lunch. The place is pretty large with two dining areas and a full bar area. As we came in our drink orders were taken and salsa and chips placed on the table. After we all arrived our orders were taken. We ordered across the menu and everything was authentic and tasty. The cubed pork in my Chimichanga was very moist, tender and tasty. Our server was timely showing up if we need a beer refill or anything else. We get one check and it was correct and professionally handled. We, as a group, decided we should come back. Parking is somewhat difficult as this place is in Old Town Auburn. There is lots of parking in a public lot but one has to walk a bit.
